Westlake, OH (April 24, 2024) – A major crash reported in the Westlake area caused injuries to at least one individual on Monday morning. The Westlake Police Department was called to the scene at around 7:45 a.m. on April 22.
According to law enforcement, a silver 2018 Chevrolet Traverse was traveling on Interstate 90 eastbound when they started to slow down due to traffic near Columbia Road. For unknown reasons, the driver of a black 2016 Ford Fusion swerved to the right and overcorrected, resulting in the two vehicles colliding. The Ford Fusion then collided with a median wall before rolling backward. Both vehicles were damaged in the crash and had to be towed from the scene. A child passenger in one vehicle was injured. The victim, identified as a 3-year-old male, was transported to Fairview Hospital for emergency care. The crash is currently being investigated.
