Shaker Heights, OH (May 1, 2024) – At around 8:45 p.m. on Monday, April 29, the Shaker Heights police and firefighters were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident that resulted in injuries.
Preliminary reports show that the driver of a 2012 Hyundai Sonata was driving southbound on Lee Road. As her vehicle approached Chagrin Boulevard, US Route 422, the driver of a 2025 Hyundai Elantra stopped suddenly at a yellow light. As a result, the Hyundai Sonata crashed into the Hyundai Elantra, which caused the Hyundai Elantra to crash into a 2023 Kia Sportage. Authorities arrived at the scene and closed down the roadway while working to clear the scene.
Three people involved in the crash were injured. Emergency medical services responded to the scene to render aid to 37-year-old Kalaisa Jones, 21-year-old Tanayha Sizemore, and a 14-year-old female. The 14-year-old female and Kalaisa Jones were both transported to UH Ahuja Medical Center. Sizemore was transported to Cleveland Clinic South Point. The incident is under investigation.
