Oregon, OH (May 14, 2024) – The Oregon Police Department responded to the scene of an automobile accident in which one man was injured. The police and firefighters were informed of the crash at around 12:55 p.m. on May 12.
Police reports show that a red 2023 Kia Rio was traveling westbound on Starr Avenue during the early afternoon hours. At the same time, a gray 2020 Chevrolet Traverse was backing out of a private driveway located in the 2600 block of the roadway. As the Chevrolet Traverse pulled out, the two vehicles collided. The Kia Rio sustained disabling damages and had to be towed from the scene.
The driver of the Kia Rio was injured in the accident. EMS responded to the scene to render aid to the victim, who was identified as 44-year-old Rodney Anton Turner. Turner was transported by Oregon Fire Department EMS to St. Charles Hospital for medical care. The driver of the Chevrolet Traverse received a traffic citation for improper starting and backing. The crash is being investigated.
