Canton, OH (March 30, 2024) — On March 28, emergency crews were requested at the scene of a motor vehicle accident that resulted in injuries. The Canton Police Department was notified of the accident at around 9:30 p.m. Thursday evening.
According to police reports, a red 2016 Hyundai Accent was traveling northbound on Cleveland Avenue Northwest. As the vehicle traveled through the intersection of 27th Street Northwest, the driver apparently failed to stop at a red light. As a result, the Hyundai Accent collided with a white 2020 Ford Fusion, which was traveling southbound on Cleveland Avenue Northwest while attempting to turn eastbound.
Canton Fire Department EMS responded to the scene to render aid to a 17-year-old female who sustained injuries in the accident. The teen was then transported to Mercy Medical Center for further treatment. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
