Cleveland, OH (April 4, 2024) – Merriman Legal has secured the ODOT video of an April 2 multi-vehicle freeway crash, which occurred on Interstate 77 in downtown Cleveland. The accident occurred at 6:05 p.m. near E. 14th St.
The video captures at least three vehicles involved in a high-speed crash while traveling southbound on I-77. The video appears to show a vehicle merging onto the freeway strike a car traveling in the right lane. The initial impact sends the car careening from the right lane into the center concrete median wall. The car then bounces back across the roadway and hits the same pickup truck. The video shows the pickup truck then going into a spin and crashing into the median wall.
“We move quickly to secure freeway crash evidence before it gets deleted,” said attorney Tom Merriman. “We preserve the video so it is available to people who were injured in the accident. This will likely be critical evidence for anyone who was involved in this terrifying crash.”
The Ohio Department of Transportation deletes all video from freeway traffic cameras after 72 hours. The Merriman Legal Rapid Response Team seeks to obtain and preserve all freeway crash videos as a public service. They are available for free upon request.
