Beachwood, OH (June 7, 2024) – At around 10:10 a.m. on June 5, the Beachwood Police Department and local firefighters responded to the scene of a car crash in which one person was hurt.
According to police reports, a silver 2023 vehicle was traveling eastbound on Cedar Road while utilizing the right lane of travel. As the vehicle proceeded through the 27,800 block of the roadway, a black 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan was positioned directly behind it. For unknown reasons, the driver of the Volkswagen Tiguan failed to maintain an assured clear distance ahead. As a result, the vehicle crashed into the rear of the silver vehicle.
One person was injured in the accident. Emergency medical services treated 88-year-old Donald Boone at the scene for his injuries. He was then transported to Hillcrest Hospital for further care. The driver of the Volkswagen Tiguan was cited for failing to provide an assured clear distance. The incident is being investigated.
