Goshen Twp., OH (February 23, 2024) – At around 1:00 a.m. on February 22, emergency crews were requested at the scene of a collision in Goshen Township. According to reports from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, two vehicles collided on Ohio State Route 165 at the intersection of US Route 62.
Further investigations show that Officer Zachary Hodgson was traveling westbound on State Route 165. As he proceeded through a red traffic light at the intersection with US Route 62, his vehicle was involved in a crash with a northbound vehicle driven by 61-year-old Sue Leclerc. The impact of the collision forced the cruiser off the right side of the roadway, where it overturned several times before coming to a stop. Hodgson and Leclerc were both injured in the accident and transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Youngstown for medical care. The incident is being investigated.
