Pepper Pike, OH (July 6, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident resulting in injuries was reported in the Pepper Pike area. The crash took place at around 3:35 p.m. on July 3.
According to official reports, a white 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander and a black 2022 Volvo XC70 were both traveling in the right lane of Interstate 271 North. As they proceeded through the area near mile marker 31.8, the driver of the Mitsubishi Outlander began to slow for traffic. As a result, the Volvo XC70 crashed into the rear of the Mitsubishi Outlander. The driver of the Volvo XC70 was cited for a speeding violation and failing to ensure a clear distance.
One person involved in the accident, identified as 85-year-old Ellen Harriet Harris, was injured in the crash. She was transported to Hillcrest Hospital for medical care. Three additional victims were treated at the scene. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
