Milan Twp., OH (January 23, 2024) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed that 60-year-old Michael Opfer of Sandusky, Ohio, lost his life in a car crash that occurred on Monday morning, January 22.
At around 6:45 a.m., Opfer was driving south on US Highway 250 when his vehicle collided with a northbound pickup truck. Opfer was severely injured in the accident. Despite medical attention rendered to him by responding authorities, he ended up passing away while at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck, identified as a 36-year-old man from Norwalk, Ohio, was transported to an area hospital for medical care. At this time, investigations into the crash are ongoing.
