Cleveland, OH (June 14, 2024) – A fatal motor vehicle accident was reported in the Cleveland area that claimed one woman’s life. The accident took place early Thursday morning, June 13.
Reports provided by the Cleveland Police Department indicate that a driver was traveling the wrong way on Interstate 71 when it crashed head-on into a second vehicle near West 150th Street. The incident prompted the closure of the roadway at around one a.m. A woman involved in the accident was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim was later identified as 58-year-old Vetrica Lemaitre. A 60-year-old man, a 32-year-old man, and a 24-year-old woman were also injured in the accident. The 32-year-old was transported to Fairview Hospital. The 60-year-old and 24-year-old were both transported to MetroHealth Medical Center. The accident is under investigation.
