Wood Co., OH (July 6, 2024) – A major motor vehicle accident reported on Friday in Wood County claimed one person’s life. Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers were called to the scene at around 6:30 p.m. on July 5.
Reports show that a commercial vehicle and two passenger vehicles collided on Interstate 280 eastbound, also known as the Ohio Turnpike. Authorities arrived at the scene and shut down the roadway at Interstate 280. Emergency officials remained at the scene for a significant amount of time. One person involved in the accident was fatally injured and pronounced deceased by authorities. Two of the victims involved in the accident were flown by air ambulance to local hospitals with severe injuries. Two additional victims were transported by ambulance to area hospitals. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
