Westlake, OH (March 17, 2024) – The Westlake Police Department confirmed that 34-year-old Joseph Palmer of Parma, Ohio, was transported to St. John Medical Center with injuries following an automobile accident that occurred on Thursday. Authorities were called to the accident scene at approximately 5:50 p.m. on March 14.
According to law enforcement reports, a white 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe was heading east on Interstate 90. As the vehicle proceeded through the area between Columbia Road and Sharon Drive, the driver of a silver 2006 Mercury Milan lost control of their vehicle while switching lanes on the road near mile marker 213. As a result, the Mercury Milan collided with the Hyundai Santa Fe, causing the Mercury Milan to spin counterclockwise. The Westlake Police Department and firefighters immediately shut down the roadway. One person injured in the accident, identified as Palmer, was transported by Westlake Fire Department EMS to the hospital for medical care. The incident is being investigated.
