Troy Twp., OH (May 23, 2024) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed that 51-year-old Joseph Oman of Mount Gilead lost his life as a result of a motorcycle accident that occurred on Tuesday morning, May 21, in Morrow County.
Reports show that Oman was driving a 2008 Harley Davidson Road Glide north on Ohio 314 during the morning hours. At the same time, a 2005 Honda Civic, driven by 47-year-old John Thauvette, was traveling southbound on the same roadway. For unknown reasons, the two vehicles collided. After the initial collision, the Honda was then struck by a 2013 Chevrolet 2500 HD, which was driven by 27-year-old Timothy Hale. Oman was fatally injured as a result of the accident. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Thauvette was seriously injured in the accident. He was transported to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital in Mansfield by EMS. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
