Toledo, OH (May 7, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported in the Toledo area on Sunday morning, May 5, ended in injuries. The Toledo Police Department and firefighters responded to the crash at around 12:10 a.m.
According to police reports, the driver of a tan 2017 Jeep Wrangler stated that he was traveling southwest on North Huron Street during the early morning hours. For unknown reasons, the driver of a black 2013 Chevrolet Traverse ran a stop sign at the intersection with Magnolia Street. As the vehicles proceeded through the intersection, they collided. The driver of the Chevrolet Traverse then fled the scene on foot. Both vehicles were severely damaged in the crash and had to be towed from the scene. The driver of the Jeep Wrangler, identified as 58-year-old Stephen Leath, was injured in the accident. He was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital for medical care. Investigations surrounding the accident are ongoing.
