Sylvania, OH (July 2, 2024) – On June 30, the police and firefighters in Sylvania Township were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident that resulted in injuries. The collision took place at around 6:50 p.m.
Police reports indicate that a 2019 Ford Escape was heading northbound on Whiteford Road during the evening hours. As the vehicle approached the intersection of Ohio State Route 184, West Alexis Road, it stopped at the red light. At the same time, a brown 2017 BMW X5 was heading westbound on West Alexis Road.
Before the BMW reached the intersection, the lights changed. The Ford Escape proceeded forward through the green light. The BMW failed to stop at a red light. As a result, the two vehicles collided. One person was hurt in the accident. Emergency medical services provided treatment to 57-year-old Suaad F El Jarouche. The victim was then transported to Flower Hospital in Sylvania for further treatment. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
