Springfield, OH (April 15, 2024) – Two people were transported to a local hospital with injuries following a motor vehicle accident that occurred early Friday morning in Springfield.
At around 6:15 a.m. on April 12, the Ohio State Highway Patrol was notified that they were needed at the scene of an accident that occurred on Ohio State Route 91. Preliminary reports show that a gray 2008 Chevrolet Impala was traveling southbound on the roadway. At the same time, a blue 2012 Jeep Liberty was traveling northbound on US Route 224, Canton Road. As the driver of the Chevrolet Impala attempted to turn eastbound onto US Route 224, it collided with the Jeep Liberty.
Two people were injured in the accident. EMS units with the Lakemore Fire Department and the Springfield Fire Department responded to assist. The LFD EMS transported 19-year-old Corey Mace to Akron General Hospital for further treatment of injuries. SFD EMS transported 67-year-old Richard James to Akron City Hospital. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
