Solon, OH (March 5, 2024) – On March 3, emergency crews were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in Solon that ended in injuries. The incident was reported to the Solon Police Department at around 12:22 p.m.
According to police reports, a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class was stopped in traffic on Aurora Road (Ohio State Route 43) at the intersection of Signature Drive. A 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee was stopped behind the Mercedes-Benz. A 2007 Kia Sedona was traveling northwest on Aurora Road. As the vehicle continued forward, the driver apparently became distracted by a cell phone and could not stop in time. As a result, the Kia Sedona struck the rear passenger side of the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The impact of the crash caused the Jeep Grand Cherokee to strike the rear of the Mercedes-Benz. The Kia Sedona then went off the road to the right. Two people were injured in the accident. Solon Fire Department EMS aided 46-year-old Brett Hoherz and 62-year-old Tonia Deacon. Both victims were transported to Hillcrest Hospital for further care. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
