Parma, OH (March 6, 2024) – The Parma Police Department confirmed that 55-year-old Neil Michael Dietz was injured in a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Monday afternoon, March 4. The Parma Police Department was called to the scene of the accident at approximately 12:20 p.m.
Preliminary reports show that a maroon 2003 motorcycle was driving on York Road in the second lane from the curb. As the vehicle proceeded through the 7800 block of the roadway, a black 2024 vehicle was traveling south on the same roadway and attempted to make a left turn into a private driveway in front of the maroon motorcycle.
The driver of the black vehicle failed to yield the right-of-way to the motorcycle. As a result, the rider dropped their bike in order to avoid a collision. The motorcyclist, identified as Dietz, was injured in the accident. Parma Fire Department EMS transported him to Southwest General Medical Center for emergency medical care. The driver of the black vehicle was cited with a right-of-way when turning violation. Investigations are underway.
