Painesville, OH (March 29, 2024) — Emergency crews were called to the scene of a car crash in the Painesville area that injured two people. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported the accident at around 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 28.
According to OSHP reports, a 2020 Toyota 4-Runner was traveling eastbound on Interstate 90 near Vrooman Road. For reasons unknown, the driver went off the side of the roadway and across the center median. After crossing to the opposite side lane, the Toyota collided with three vehicles, which were all traveling westbound. The 77-year-old driver of the Toyota was cited for driving the wrong way. Two people involved in the accident were hurt. The injured victims were transported to Tripoint Hospital for emergency care. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
