Middlefield Twp., OH (March 3, 2024) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident in Middlefield Township that injured two people. The accident occurred during the morning hours on Friday, March 1.
At around 7:40 a.m., a Cardinal Local School bus was heading east on Route 87. The vehicle came to a stop on the east lanes of the road, with a Nissan pickup truck stopped behind it. For reasons unknown, the Nissan was struck in the rear by an Isuzu flatbed truck. The force of the collision caused the Nissan to strike the back end of the school bus. The drivers of the Nissan and the Isuzu were both injured. The victims were transported to University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center for further care. No one on the bus was injured, according to news reporting. At this time, the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating.
