Maumee, OH (March 7, 2024) – On March 6, the Maumee Police Department and area firefighters were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident that resulted in injuries. The accident occurred at approximately 9:50 a.m. on Wednesday.
According to police reports, a gray 2018 Toyota RAV4 was driving eastbound on Anthony Wayne Trail, US Route 24. A yellow 2015 Honda was driving behind the Toyota RAV4 on the same road. While proceeding forward, the Toyota RAV4 began to slow down due to an upcoming lane closure, and the yellow Honda also began to slow down.
A white 2018 Honda CRV following behind the yellow Honda failed to slow down or stop in time. As a result, the Honda CRV crashed into the yellow Honda. The impact of the crash caused the yellow Honda to strike the rear of the Toyota RAV4. All three vehicles came to rest in the middle of the road. One person was injured in the accident. The victim, 71-year-old Donna Ryczek of Perrysburg, Ohio, was transported to Mercy Hospital for medical care. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
