Kent, OH (January 24, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported on Monday in the Kent area claimed one person’s life. The accident occurred at around 8:45 p.m. on January 22.
According to official reports, a Spectrum employee was removing equipment from the bucket truck to begin working on a pole located on Lake Street, just east of Edgewood Drive. For unknown reasons, an eastbound Chevrolet Malibu crashed into the truck. One person involved in the accident, identified as 55-year-old William A. Williams, was fatally injured. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the car, a 50-year-old man from Kent, was injured in the accident. That person was transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital. One additional person was injured in the crash as well, a 33-year-old man from Akron. He was transported to Summa Health System’s Akron campus for medical care. At this time, investigations into the crash are ongoing.
