Independence, OH (March 17, 2024) — On March 16, the police and firefighters in Independence were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident in which one person was injured. The accident occurred just before 2:30 p.m.
According to law enforcement reports, a black 2014 Infiniti was driving westbound on Rockside Road just west of the Rockside Woods when it collided with a red 2015 Ford Fusion, which was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Quarry Lane. The impact of the collision caused the Ford Fusion to crash into the rear of a white 2020 Audi Q3 that was stopped at the red light. The driver of the Ford Fusion was injured in the crash. That person was identified as 60-year-old Yvonne Sciarappa, and she was transported by Independence Police Department EMS to Marymount Hospital for emergency treatment. The incident is being investigated at this time.
