Independence, OH (February 18, 2024) – At least one person was injured in a motor vehicle accident reported in Independence on Friday evening, February 16.
According to local news sources, at around 10:50 p.m., a collision between two cars blocked the southbound side of Interstate 77. The incident prompted the closure of the interstate near Chestnut Road as emergency responders removed the involved vehicles and cleared debris from the roadway. Airbags in at least one of the vehicles deployed, rendering it undrivable. Medical personnel responded to the scene to care for injured parties and transport them to area hospitals for further care. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
