Coventry, OH (January 25, 2024) – Emergency crews out of Summit County were requested at the scene of a motor vehicle accident that took place on Monday morning, January 22. The accident occurred at around 8:20 a.m.
According to reports provided by the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, a black 2017 Kia Amanti, a yellow 2024 Ford Explorer, and a white 2011 Hyundai were all traveling north on Interstate 77. For unknown reasons, the Hyundai cut into the lane of the Kia Amanti, causing the two vehicles to collide. The force of the collision caused the Hyundai to spin out and collide with the Ford Explorer. One person involved in the accident was injured. The victim, identified as 87-year-old Edward Andersen, was transported to Akron City Hospital by Coventry EMS for emergency care. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
