Bedford, OH (March 10, 2024) – The Bedford Police Department was requested at the scene of a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Friday morning and ended in injuries. The incident was reported at 3:02 a.m. on March 8.
According to area law enforcement reports, a gray 2008 vehicle was on the southbound side of Interstate 271 when it was struck by a 2024 semi-truck tractor-trailer near Solon Road. The collision caused the gray vehicle to come to rest, blocking one of the lanes. The gray vehicle was then struck by a black 2015 vehicle. Both sedans had to be towed from the scene due to the extent of damage.
One person was injured in the accident. Bedford Fire Department EMS responded to the scene of the crash to treat 61-year-old Jan Elbert Jones of Atwater, Ohio. Jones was then transported to Marymount Hospital for further treatment. At this time, the Bedford Police Department is investigating the incident.
