‘Jam for Justice’ hopes to raise $100,000 for legal services for underprivileged
CLEVELAND (July 17, 2018) – The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland will host the Jam for Justice on July 19 featuring several bands headlined by local judges and attorneys, including attorney Paul Grieco, a partner at Landskroner Grieco Merriman, LLC.
The organization hopes to raise $100,000 at the annual concert and silent auction. The money will be used to provide legal services for low-income residents in Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Ashtabula and Lorain counties.
Grieco discussed his love of music and the valuable work the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland does during a recent interview in Chagrin Valley Today. Grieco is one of 3,000 lawyers who volunteer their time and provide pro bono legal services for the organization.
“I guess word got out to Legal Aid that I was involved and had a band,” Mr. Grieco said in the interview. “Then they were kind enough to reach out and ask if we were interested. And of course when I brought it up with my bandmates they loved the idea. Obviously we love performing, but even more than that, we love the idea of being able to give back to the community as well.”
Jam for Justice 2018 will be held from 5 to 9:30 p.m. on July 19 in the courtyard near the Aloft Hotel and Ernst & Young Building, 1111 West 10th Street, Cleveland. Tickets are $50 per person. The event will feature food, drinks, several bands and a DJ. There will also be a silent auction featuring dozens of items, including opportunities to perform with the bands, Cleveland Indians tickets, museum passes, fine dining, shopping excursions and more.
